The Connecting To Culture mat encourages us to yarn, learn, share and connect with each other

Created by Aboriginal artist De Greer Yindimincarlie of the Wiradjuri Nation, this design shapes us, guides us, and defines who we are. It is important for our identity, our growth and our beliefs.

We think it will be a popular circle time mat choice for classrooms and daycare centres. Why? Because the 24 circles that surround this charming design are perfect for organising 24 little bottoms! Educators can encourage children to sit in a perfect circle for group time, storytime, 'show and share', or any teaching experience.

Made from recycled polypropylene sourced from plastic bags, plastic drink bottles, and medicine bottles, these mats ensure you are celebrating the planet as well as multiculturalism. The Connecting To Culture mat is light enough to carry or fold-up for transport or storage, so you can move it from your art space or reading corner to a shady spot outside at lunchtime. It's soft and comfortable, but equally sturdy.

These large outdoor mats are perfect for schools and early learning environments or use them indoors for storytelling, art and craft. Consider using them in conjunction with other classroom resources such as The Little Black Game Pack (designed by the same artist) to extend learning in areas such as culture, nature, family life or art.

Connecting To Culture also makes perfect sense as a camping mat, unique flooring inside your bell tent, at events, and as pop-up seating for concerts, picnics, and festivals.

We're now exploring how we can 're-recycle' your unwanted mats! Our exciting initiative for re-purposing and re-using them is a must-read
